I just looked at buying a 2001 Audi TT and Allstate told me that insurance would be 0 a month.. So I dont really know whats next but I was considering buying a used cruiser motorcycle around 250cc.. I am 17, no tickets, good grade discount, and teen-smart driving discount… I don’t have my motorcycle license, but I wouldn’t imagine it would be too difficult to get one. Anyone else who the same age, help me out

Alright the most important question I have is what are the things I can do that would get me discounts on a motorcycle license, like if I take a basic riding course would that reduce my insurance premium some?

I would like to rent a Vespa-type scooter this summer while on vacation in Washington DC. I have a motorcycle license and can ride, but my girlfriend wouldn’t ride with me on a motorcycle. She wouldn’t mind being on a scooter though. We would be driving down, but I wouldn’t have room to put a scooter in her car and would have to ride it to and from the rental place. Thanks!

I spoke with my auto insurance agent this morning (at American Family). She said the following:

1. Full coverage insurance on an everyday 2004 (500cc) Honda Motorcycle would run me about 0/year.

2. I can’t get any kind of coverage on a sport bike until I’ve had my motorcycle license for 10 years; and even if I did, it would cost me ,000/year.

Please tell me everything you know about motorcycle insurance. Do I even need it? I want to buy a used sport bike (600cc or less) and spend around k for it. If something happens, it’s not like I’m wrecking a k new car or even my primary transportation – and the cost to fix it wouldn’t be that bad. Even if it was, at ,000/year for insurance, I might as well just take my chances, right?
I’m a 22 year old male. I will be taking the motorcycle safety course in late spring or early summer this year. I will then get my motorcycle license.
My issue is that I CANNOT GET insurance for a sport bike, even if I was willing to pay ,000. They said I need to have a license for 10 years and I’m not willing to wait around for a decade.

Who will give me coverage on a sport bike for cheap being an inexperienced rider?

Isn’t the pricing ridiculous for insurance if I add motorcycle insurance to it?
