lets say that you have a 250cc motorcycle for few years and the 250cc bike has a low rate on insurance ….later when you switch to a 600cc with the same insurance company ….will your rate be a little higher or your rate starts all over again like new motorcycles?

The rate goes up.

The liability rate on the motorcycle, cc’s are a major rating factor.

My father has his bike insured with a certain company. Another company has cheaper insurance for me on that bike than his does. Is it possible for me to buy my own policy from a separate company without affecting his coverage?
I actually found out that I can not be insured with my father’s company because I am not 21.

Probably not. But what are the limits of his insurance compared to your quote? I’ll bet your quote is for the minimum your state will allow. After you hit that amount, it’s coming out of your (or daddy’s) pocket.
Trust us old bikers, we have learned from experience what things should be.
I learned when a friend hit another biker and all he had was state minimum ($ 10.000.00) The helicopter ride the other rider took was $ 7500.00. Then surgeries, hospital stay, loss of income, pain and suffering, permanent disability (partial), months of rehab, replacing his bike ($ 30,000) And that was just the other guy. He got his leg broken in 3 places, broken ribs, internal injuries requiring surgery, and a bunch of stitches. He lost his house! Now they garnish his pay every week to pay against what he owes the insurance companies and this man. He gets about half his pay, and will probably loose half his retirement (social security) and still not pay off what he owes before he dies.

no that sounds kind of outdated. sounds kind of like a greaser, maybe a biker chick would like that but you are limiting yourself with that.

atv insurance:

Question by P N: How much is normal insurance coverage for a ATV?
I just found out my parents had this amount of coverage on their ATV. 100/300/50 both comprehensive and collision with a $ 100 deductible anyone else think they have too much?

That is the same as my car except with a higher deductible.
It is never on the main road as it is illegal in my State.

No, it’s not too much. ATVs and similar motorized vehicles are not covered in any way by your homeowners/renters policy, so you do need to carry separate insuance on them, otherwise, any damage or injury they might cause are out-of-pocket. I suspect many owners don’t know this, so your parents are being smart.

Can anyone give me a rough estimate of what motorcycle insurance would cost me for a newer model sports bike 2007-2011 smaller size like a 250 maybe a little bigger. I am almost 19 I am enrolled in college I have had no accidents and no tickets average grades. I know nobody can give me a dead on quote just looking for an estimate in the ball park. I would only need insurance for six months out of the year.

Nobody here has the slightest idea of what insurance may cost you. The only way to find out is to ask an insurance company.
