Question by Raccoon: How much is scooter insurance in TO. Ball park here for a 36 yo looking to get a 150CC Honda. New Rider?
Just looking at getting myself a scooter next year and doing some research. Looking to see how much the insurance would be and if it is worth my time to go for rider training such as the course offered by Durham college.

Looking at a scooter of at least 125 CC but probibly no more than 250.

I have a Honda elite 150 insured with GEICO with liability only
for $ 84.00 a year. I also took the riding course and I think this lowered the rate.

My bf and I are planning a Florida vacation to Miami, Key West and on the way back home, hit Clearwater on the West Coast. We’re newbies at planning something like this so any suggestions will be appreciated.

We’re thinking arriving to Ft. Lauderdale instead of Miami to save some money, rent a motorcycle either there or in Miami, ride to Key West, return to Miami and from there take a bus or rent a car to Clearwater and fly back from Tampa.

What is a reliable rental for Motorcycles in Ft. Lauderdale and Miami?

I’m buying a 1974 Honda CB360 Bobber motorcycle, I’m 22 years old..have had 1 ticket in October for running a blinking red light at night, 1 speeding ticket that got dismissed in court and 1 speeding ticket that stuck a 65 in a 55. I live in Michigan and this is my first ever motorcycle. How much am I looking to pay? and what is the best company to get insurance, online it says Geico wont insurance motorcycles in Michigan so cant use them. I spoke with my auto insurance agent this morning (at American Family). She said the following:

1. Full coverage insurance on an everyday 2004 (500cc) Honda Motorcycle would run me about 0/year.

2. I can’t get any kind of coverage on a sport bike until I’ve had my motorcycle license for 10 years; and even if I did, it would cost me ,000/year.

Please tell me everything you know about motorcycle insurance. Do I even need it? I want to buy a used sport bike (600cc or less) and spend around k for it. If something happens, it’s not like I’m wrecking a k new car or even my primary transportation – and the cost to fix it wouldn’t be that bad. Even if it was, at ,000/year for insurance, I might as well just take my chances, right?
I’m a 22 year old male. I will be taking the motorcycle safety course in late spring or early summer this year. I will then get my motorcycle license.
My issue is that I CANNOT GET insurance for a sport bike, even if I was willing to pay ,000. They said I need to have a license for 10 years and I’m not willing to wait around for a decade.

Who will give me coverage on a sport bike for cheap being an inexperienced rider?
