Question by Bart S: Could I rent a Harley Davidson Motorcycle for a weekend the same way you rent a car? How much $,, ?
I have an idea, Big Harley Poker Run coming up, I can rent a HD and impress all the other HD Riders and tell them its MY bike and I won’t feel like a fool riding my rice burner with other HD’s
I want to prove to everybody that I can ride a HD better than guys that have been riding HD’s for a long time!

It depends on where you rent it from. Just make sure you have a valid motorcycle license, and your twenty five or older.

I am looking for a place that I can rent a Harley in Mexico. The preferred cities are Guadalajara, Mansanillo or Morelia. Anything close to there will do.

I was looking for rental also, I am going to Puerta Vallarta tomorrow. there is a Harley dealer in Guadalajara, Harleyavidsonguadalajara.com but it’s in Spanish, don’t know if they rent. Do you know how far it is from Guadalajara to P.V.

want to tour the west coast of USA (start point is flexible) on a Harley (or similar) in September with my husband (who has full UK bike license). At the end of the holiday we want to drive to Vegas and fly home from there (so are looking for a drop off in a seperate place from our pick up point). Having trouble finding somewhere that allows this online… does anyone know of anywhere that could help?

Call the dealership in the city you wish to start in. Some rent, some have access to rental option. Online about all you’ll probably be able to do is e-mail back and forth and save a phone call. A lot of options in CA:

I use Dairyland,, great rates that drop every year i don’t have a claim

the only drawback right now is the local agent retired and nobody has take her place.

I am a 19-year old male who has been riding a motorcycle for about 3 years and took a rider safety course. I was wondering what possible insurance costs would be for a Harley 883 Sportster, probably a 98 or newer (probably nothing newer than a 2005 though). Specifically, I was wondering about American Family Insurance (but any general info would be appreciated too). I am looking to upgrade my bike (along with the size of my engine, ive been driving a 250 for a while now). I beleive american family cant even cover sport bikes for a rider like me, so i was thinking about getting another cruiser/standard style bike. i have kind of been drawn towards Harley, but if insurance is too expensive, ill have to look for something else. Does anyone have any other suggestions for bikes? or general info? thanks
and does anyone know if American Family considers the 500 Ninja a sport bike? I dont know if that bike would be my first choice, but i know there if one for sale around here…

Ace, call around and get quotes. Insurance varies widely depending on location. In Dallas Tx insurance can be double the cost that is in Lexington Ky. I know this one personally.

ever notice? all HD Dealers have a top of the line high traffic, prime location, they have to be spending major lease or rent contracts, how do they make money to pay for it?
HD sales are off 35% for 2008
and,,, the Japanese Motorcycle Dealers have back road, run down locations and many of them are sold outta bikes.

Ever think that maybe Harley owners are paying way too much for what they’re getting? That perhaps what they pay for is a name and the “Harley mystique” (translation—myth). Don’t get the wrong idea here. I’m not trashing Harleys. They have good products and, if their pricing was more realistic, I might even own one. But as long as yuppies and RUBs continue to shovel cash at Harley dealers, why should they back off their exorbitant prices? So, yeah, they can afford the prime locations, as long as they can take us all to the cleaners…
