I’m interested in the Street Bob and Super Glide. Individual sellers won’t let me test ride their bike, and the dealers won’t either. So I figured – screw it, I’ll rent one. 7 for a day – fine whatever. But, they said there would be a 00 security deposit. WHOA. That’s where I got nervous and backed out of the rental. Harley was true to their self-righteousness, and said "ok" and hung up the phone without explaining much to me or trying to bargain with a customer.

But does that seem alarming to anyone? Do I need to worry much about that? If I crack one of the mirrors am I gonna have to cough up two grand? Or, god forbid, I might drop it in a parking lot somewhere. I understand Harley doesn’t want people beating up their bikes for the fun of it, and the 00 will scare away the losers.

But how does this work and how leery should I be of the security deposit amount?
I’ve rented cars and test ridden corvettes and I’ve never run into this kinda thing before.

I have two grand credit. I have two grand cash too – more than that. That’s not the problem. But I don’t have two grand that I’m willing to get screwed out of. Feel me?

What are the insurance rate like for these bike compared to other bike and compared to cars?

I had a coupld of friends that have motorcycles and some that have cars. They don’t pay for their own insurance but i wanted to know if by any chance if motorcycle insurance is cheaper then auto insurance. I know auto insurance these days are sky high. But since a motorcycle is a lot smaller, shouldn’t insurance for it be cheaper for it?

Hi,

I am 20 years old, have a full uk driving license and have been a named driver for 3 years.

According to various insurance websites, it will cost about 500 pounds to insure me, and the cheapest cars seem to come around 500 with a few months left on the MOT

If I were to complete a CBT (about 100 pounds cost) how much would it cost to buy a cheap second hand motorbike, and how much would insurance cost in comparison to a car.

Also, where can you keep a motorcycle in a city?
