harley motorcycle rental:

Question by goranago: Can motorcycle rental places really tell how long one has had their licence for? ?
I want to rent a harley for a day but they require one to have had their motorcycle licence for at least 2 years and I have only had it for 1 year. Can they really check that info? Would anything happen to me if I pretend I’ve had it for 2 years?

ummmm,, yea, all they have to do is ask to look at your current drivers license, and i don’t think any competent rental business is not going to look at your license for identification.
Or if it wasn’t marked, all they need is your drivers license number and they can obtain that Information the same way insurance company’s do

my daddy used to tell me “Stupid People Think Everybody Else is Stupid” or stupid say what stupid do

I own a motorcycle rental business in San Francisco. Every state has a different way of identifying the motorcycle endorsement therefore it is hard for us to know exactly when you got your motorcycle endorsement. We use the 2 year experience rule as a guideline as we want to make sure our customers are safe and know how to ride the bike. The insurance companies do not make the 2 year experience mandatory, it is usually the owner of the rental shop that makes this a requirement. The risk you take when lying to the rental company comes into play if you are involved in an accident. You could be held liable for all damages to the bike and medical bills if you get hurt or hurt another person. I am sure the insurance company’s legal team could find out exactly when you got your motorcycle license. Good Luck!
